tennessee fainting goats
a wonderful creature whose origin traces back to the hills of Tennessee. An old man by the name of john
tinsley had a sacred cow, three nannies and one billie goat, when he arrived in the early 1880's. Some
thought he was from nova scotia but no one is certain. He stayed a while there in Marshall county,
Tennessee and then moved on after selling his goats to Dr. h. h. mayberry. From these four animals the
breed can trace their ancestry. When frightened their legs stiffen and if they are off balance they will fall to
the ground. This is temporary and they quickly get back up and move on.
